Subject: Nitrogen timing in short season corn

Good morning, I have been growing 86 day or shorter corn the last few seasons with the plans of having dryer corn come harvest. When we used to milk cows we grew closer to 100 day corn but the cows are gone now and I do not have a dryer set up. I have always split applied our nitrogen because of the amount of moisture we typically get during the season but I am wondering if with the shorter day corn if I should apply all of the nitrogen up front because the shorter day corn grows and matures seemingly much faster, I don't want the corn to get short of N for a week or so for some reason in the middle of the growing season? Thanks in advance.
