My thoughts were long and skinny to keep the face small. Have a 40k lb 4wd pack tractor, 18k push tractor on singles.
Have did single bale bunkers at the in laws for several years with corn silage, not much for negative effects that I’ve seen and the truck drivers know where to dump.
Cold weather does help a lot for our silage piles I know.
