Central Kansas | About 2% of US population is directly engaged in agribusiness. I think a fair number of this group (we folks) don’t routinely check the oil and tire pressure on their ‘going to town” vehicles. Equipment….maybe. So….98% of the population responds to low tire pressure alarm …..air them up somewhere and drive on. Maybe a low oil alarm would save these folks a big repair bill. Doubt most would know where dipstick is. Idiot lights replaced gauges many years go…same notion….blinking orange or red light is responded to out of irritation, low needle reading on a gauge…maybe not monitored well. Humans in this occupation are much more tuned in to the pulse, sound and vibrations of equipment they run. Likely not fair to rag on manufacturers who design & build vehicles for the masses. But, then again….outside temp sensors, GPS and auto steer, remote cameras for dumping and backing up…auto HVAC systems…..ya know…..innovation. EVs, no dipstick right? | |
