Hooker Twp,Ne | You’re close to right. I believe end of last year diesel off delivery truck was near 2.50. In my comparison I was useing the valentine,first of March timeframe. I remmember it going to 4 and sitting there for awhile. I used $3 as a conservative number on bottom side and 5 on top side for average. Yes today we probably closer to 6 than 5. As one of the old timers 73 I can remember putting gas in my car for 19 cents and attendant washed my windshield. Also remember dad complaining about 50 cent diesel fuel for the tractors. Our 45 jd combine and 410 Massey combine had gas engines. In those days if we combined 10-15000 bu of grain all harvest it was a big deal. Couple days ago we cut 20k bu in one day with two flagship combines and in was home by 7 pm. But it took two graincart operators, one operator at the bagger and two combine operators. | |
