Congratulations ! It's always a good feeling to complete a season. I'm sure it can be more mixed when you decide it is your last one. Hopefully your combine leak did not get any worse and you were able to finish without needing to tackle that issue. We hope you will keep posting here on AgTalk let us know what your up to and continue to share your accumulated knowledge and wisdom from those 50 years of experience. Here is the immortal quote from a Agtalk poster from the past. Credit goes to Mudsock Bob for the quote. "When we get old and have shut our tractors off for the last time, we will only have memories left. Nobody will then care how big a farmer we WERE, for those left will ALL be bigger than we ever were. Its a matter of what memories we chose to have. Memories of stepping on our neighbors in our attempt to be on top of the heap or memories of how many people we stopped to help up their own climb up that hill. Even if we have made it to the top of that hill, it will never be as rewarding as we thought . For those few who have made it to the apex will still only want more. Its not our successes that teach us, its our failures that are the best lessons. Success is a poor teacher." Bob |
