Southeast WI
Elemental S here every fall since it flat out works on our sulfur hungry soils. We have variable soil types with sandy loam/sct loamy sand areas make up a portion of our ground and sulfate forms go through the profile similar to N many years.

Caveat is if you rely on elemental S you need to use it every year so its constantly releasing. First several years (for corn) i supplied about 10 units of additional S as ATS in a planter band to make sure i had some readily available form out there in addition to the elemental source.
