Amherst WI | This is my point of view from the grandson who didn’t get the chance at any family land due to the family between me and the grandparents losing it or selling it without considering their son in his early twenties who is actively farming would want it.
If your grandson really does want to farm how much stress will he have from trying to start at zero as opposed to you who did have someone laying the foundation?
We spent two decades making that foundation that was sold at auction for pennies in the dollar, while peers who had help are paying off their first farms they bought in their early 20’s we won’t have anything paid off till our mid 50’s. I’ve come to the conclusion the only reason I’m doing what I am doing is to make my sons life easier if he chooses to continue this, because for myself by the time we’ve got enough land paid for to enjoy it I’ll be too old to do so.
I say all this while currently on medication for an ulcer, so you do you. | |
