North Dakota | I am at the same timeframe you are. Have a son that is uninterested and doing well for himself in his chosen profession. I have two very young grandsons one of which I can’t keep away from agriculture no matter how hard I try. He has to be with me, around the farm or asks me incessantly what I am doing, why and am doing it and when is he old enough to help. Goes out with me scouting crops asking about crop diseases, pests, fertilizer rates….on and on and on. He is only 7 but knows more about agriculture than I did at 12. I figure I will hold out as long as the good Lord allows me too and give him the opportunity if he wants it when old enough.
I am a big believer in God creates each of us for a purpose. It appears this may be my grandsons purpose. Time will tell but the ONLY way this could conceivably happen in modern agriculture is if I provide the opportunity and the good Lord concurs. | |
