| I think depends some on how long your alley is, longer the better, ours is straight, but it is about 43 feet to the headgate and slightly up hill, I don't think a curve would make much difference for us. Straight is a lot easier, bigger help is if you can narrow it up somehow for calves, we have 23 feet that is fixed and it was a PIA this year, I have some 3/4" ply wood and I think we are going to make some "filler panels" to narrow it up for calves to narrow that 23' up.
