If you want grizzlies in California, this Californian say keep them in the city limits of Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angles first then let me know how that goes.

The first 1/2 of my life I never heard or saw a coyote. Plenty now. My dad was born in 1912 and never saw a mountain lion until he was past 70, not until it was made illegal to kill them. He spent far more time horse back in prime country than I have. I have seen 6 by now, provided hit and killed by a car counts. Fish and Wildlife does its best to keep quit about ones killed by cars. My wife has seen 4, one being a cub she hit. Three of them were in 6 month period. All on the 15 miles from home to town. There have always been black bear 50 to 60 miles away in this area, Always stayed in the same area until a young one makes news every 10 years or so. But they are increasing as well. The first wolf 6 or 8 years ago was posable as close as 75 miles.

And of course we have had wild hogs since the 1960's. Now for 15 years the tule elk planted 6 miles away on the 100,000 acre Camp Roberts army base have out grown it and are all about.
