Nobody mentioned" buying or selling to a stranger on the internet"
Nobody mentioned one-offs or rejects. them are things you interjected into the conversation.

I specifically mentioned the scenario where you know the herd. The other cattleman, you can see the calves develop. You can get history and you can make an informed decision.

That is in fact the opposite of "one off and rejects"and You are evaluating your herd for the best possible.

Everything I described is how herdsmen have been doing this for generations. We have more data today, but the process of picking a prospect is still fundamentally the same. Whether you're a herdsman with five cows or you're a seedstock Farm, that initial process is very similar. The objective might be different.

There's absolutely nothing that I said is complicated or controversial.

You actually did mention above that breeders in your area sell animals that “do not make /meet the selection criteria” as “magnificent prospects”. I didn’t understand your 30 years of line breeding and 3 eyes part - seems those should have been culled/euthanized by any of your local breeders by now.

I did not know that you and TC were personal friends.. TC started this thread as a gripe about OldTiger and everyone piled on. His original threads below were questions regarding specific sires and cattlemen impressions of those sires and about finding specific breeders /cattle to buy a young bull to develop.

Im personally skeptical that everyone knows TC personally and TC s herd enough to sell a 1-off magnificent prospect that doesn’t fit their own herd but would be good enough for TC. But, that’s what great friendships are all about. Color me skeptical at best.
