NE Iowa | We replaced our Hubbard tubs with by o reg tubs for our cows about 2 1/2 months ago. Cows have been on grass, late 1st crop and a summer grazing mix since tubs have been out. Intake of tub dropped quite a bit compared to hubbard. We got the ones with garlic in them, I thought it helped quite a bit for fly control even tho we have garlic in our free choice mineral and rubs. I thought it calmed the calves down quite a bit also, not that they were wild but you can about scratch every one of them now. I thought their ****s firmed up quite a bit and they weren’t as picky in their rotational grazing, which may or may not be a good thing I’m not sure. I didn’t think we had poor guy health in the cows before hand but maybe these tubs are proving me wrong. They are about double the price of what we paid for the Hubbard tubs but they last about 3 times as long. Will keep using them throughout winter to compare to last | |
