Did you try activating your new computer software online or by phone?

I replaced a computer running QB 2012 and was told over the phone it wasn't supported anymore, therefore I couldn't be provided with an activation code.  The computer wasn't connected to the internet, hence the call to obtain an activation code.

I needed a LAN connection to the internet since I didn't have a wireless or bluetooth adapter on this particular computer, so I carried it to the router and plugged it in.  Then I tried again to activate Quickbooks automatically and instantly it was registered.

It might be worth a try even though your software is an older version.
