Lake Park Iowa
This is the first year with a J&M rolling basket. We have pulled it behind a field cultivator in bean ground going to corn. It did a great job. We brought it for the very purpose that you are looking at, to break up the root balls. We tried it a few rounds in stalk ground that had just been disked in the fall behind a chopping head. I believe that it will do a fine job. The little bit we did, I believe that we are going to have to run the field cultivator deep enough to move enough soil to mix with the stalks, or all the stalks are going to end up on top of the ground and blow away. At the deeper setting it seemed to work better. Will know a lot more after we start planting beans. Will try to post pictures and results when we get going next week hopefully. Dan
