WinTec Grain Counter — count grains from a photo, get TGW and seeding rate

I built a small utility for anyone who has ever counted out 1,000 kernels by hand. Spread a sample on a contrasting surface, photograph it from directly above, and the app counts the grains and measures each one.

What you get

Grain count, with every detected contour drawn into the image — you can zoom in and check the ones it merged or split
Per-grain data: position, size, area, major/minor axis, circularity, and a flag for grains it separated or that sit on the frame edge
Thousand grain weight from the count plus a scale reading, optionally corrected to a reference moisture
Seeding rate in kg/ha from TGW, target stand, germination and field emergence
No cloud, no account, no ads

Everything runs on the device. There is no network code in the app at all — samples live in a local database. Free, no in-app purchases.

Worth knowing

It handles touching grains, not stacked ones — heavily overlapping layers can't be resolved reliably by any image analysis. Results depend on photo quality, and this doesn't replace a calibrated measurement where a count has to be legally binding. A sample image is built in, so you can see exactly what it does before you go find a sample.
