North central North Dakota | nhermanson - 8/25/2026 12:45 Interesting. I've needed to add cell backup to my unifi networks for a while now, but always ignored UI's options as they don't allow Verizon. I'm not sure how T mobile reception is around here, but I may be willing to try for $150. I have a verizon business account and was going to just use one of the BR1 mini modems we use in the tractors hard wired to the router. So it can be plugged in anywhere on the network? I already have 2 ISP circuits coming into my UDMP. I wonder if this would truly add a 3rd or if I need to disable it. I'm not concerned about speed, mostly just need something to keep an eye on critical livestock equipment during outages. I just wish it had provisions for an external antenna. I was told by a few people that there is not good T-Mobile coverage in my area. There are a few towers that are within 15 miles of me so took a gamble. I tried to use the Verizion sim out of my ipad pro but it did not work well - of course it also says not supported at this time. Can be plugged into anywhere on your network. POE It is configured as a backup (I think you can have two backups). I just unplugged my main ISP connection and has been working ever since. For $300 more you can buy the outdoor unit. I didn't want to spend that much money. I put a 50 foot network cable on mine and started to see which side of building had best reception then used the south windows and started to move it around and put in different positions until it got best reception. I need to try west side of my shop also but did not take time for that since I do not have a good spot to hook up a network cable on that end at this time.
