Old wives' tale?
RE: Fact: Sugar Does Not Make Kids Hyper

Let's reword this statement:

Fact: Sugar Does Not Make Kids Criminals.

Hyper is the sense 24x7x364 is not the same as transient 'energized' behavior after drinking sugary drinks.

RE: Debunking Old Wives' Tales: Why Your Child Isn’t Actually on a Sugar High

"A study conducted at the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research has shown that dopamine is released immediately after eating sugary foods, even before the food reaches the stomach"

"1. The Dopamine Surge

Healthy, natural rewards (like eating a good meal or socializing) cause a controlled release of dopamine. Addictive substances and behaviors (like drug use, gambling, or compulsive social media scrolling) bypass normal processing and trigger a massive, immediate surge of dopamine. This artificial spike is significantly larger and faster than any natural reward, creating a powerful feeling of euphoria"

Hence, "feeling of euphoria" is "actually" a Sugar High..." children and teenagers have developing brains with reward systems that respond more intensely to dopamine than adult brains. Their prefrontal cortex—the area responsible for impulse control and long-term planning—is still growing, making them feel dopamine spikes and crashes more strongly"
