When we are in Bonaire for the winter I only have one pair of long pants that I show up in when we arrive and put them back on three months later when going back home. Otherwise it is shorts for three months.

Same way with sandals although I will put on regular shoes if I need to help a friend with a load of hay bales or digging a ditch or something like that. 

Have not worn sunscreen for the last 7 years. But I an careful to not get burned. I think it helps since we quit eating vegetable oils in our food.
