Ken it was 1978 for me,,the testing here was very strict.Parallel parking,alley dock blind side,still remember the testing officer(was a state cop) saying (as we were driving a loop of 6 miles) "why is your hand on the stick shift?It is not going any where,keep both hands on the wheel"..I knew mechanicals well but I think the only focus was lug nuts,,which was odd,,
