North Western IL | I agree with you. Especially with the spineless, bought-and-paid-for NCBA comment.
Just thinking out loud…what would happen if there was some sort of CRP type program. Prairie grasses, no alfalfa. The gov. subsidized the seeding, paid a below average rent, but then allowed the landowner to take 2 cuttings of gras hay off/year. I think it would help the grain prices by taking fridge acres off, and it would help with herd rebuilding.
