N.E. MT | How do you go get money @7%ish to buy 4,500-5k dollar heifers? All of us know better and It’s a bad idea in the cattle business. Buy high, sell low? No thanks from me. I have lots of cows/heifers for sale. I’m plenty ambitious and young enough to push harder but old enough to know better. These high markets will end and people trying to expand will be caught paying notes they can’t afford and have to eat spam to keep going. Last time, 14,’ we went and upgraded everything spent a bunch on equipment ect. This time we are preparing for famine. Getting financials in shape, notes paid down, trying to keep it from being so bad in 7 years. Experienced cattlemen know better than to trust the current market. | |
