Bottom of the Mitten | I agree with a lot of what you said. Crops farming operations get handed down all the time to the next generation. Why don't cattle farms? They would but nobody wants to be tied down and put in the work involved to make it happen, even when its handed to them. Sell the cows off and I'll take my paycheck when you're gone. Might not be that way in your area but it is here. The other responses to the OP are also very accurate
