The herd man has aged and the next generation isn’t willing to put the hours in for what they saw growing up. Much easier to grow crop and be at the lake in summer.
This has what I came here to say. They'd rather ride around in a climate controlled cab a couple weeks in the spring and a couple weeks in the fall vs all the things livestock will put you through all day and all night and having responsibilities 365 days a year |
