make your own decisions

Sorting the chaff from the wheat can be a daunting task, especially when Youtube's modern day snake-oil consumer/sales-folks do not give a full disclosure, and since whatever is suggested may or may not work for all individuals. Even in the scientific literature, for instance, all of these affects mentioned may not happen:

Importantly, in contrast to drugs developed for a single target of lipid metabolism in a single organ, BBR [berberine] can coordinate multiple key targets of lipid metabolism and intestinal flora in the intestine and liver to regulate lipid levels. It can also act directly on blood vessels to ameliorate endothelial dysfunction, inhibit macrophage foam cell formation, and regulate vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) proliferation and migration to prevent and treat atherosclerosi

And then if possible, at what dosage amount works for a single individual. BBR did not lower my LDL count, but it might have lowered the triglyceride count, along with smaller stools and better alertness in afternoon/evening hours. So, I know two effects exist, but I can't evaluate the rest of the potential effects.

So here, the gut microbiota and/or genetics are/is at play, and researchers are far away for pinning the tail on the donkey.
