I've been fighting pinkeye/diarrhea/disease/ and in general unthriftiness in feeder calves for several years now.
It was always you need to vaccinate for this or for that. Or treat em with this or that. Never much success.
Had a conversation with a local plumber- said water quality in our area is declining rapidly- recommended hydrogen peroxide injection.
Also sent water samples to be tested. High sulfates and iron. My own research showed the sulfates can tie up dietary copper. Copper is an important mineral for immune function. Peroxide will help with the sulfates. I also had my nutritionist increase the copper in my mineral.
Only been with the peroxide injector for a month and a week with the higher copper levels, but so far it seems to be an improvement.
