Physics was a long time ago but here is my thoughts.
A) water wrapped around in hose would be like head pressure trying to push round and round
B lots of surface area so lots of friction, plus all the weight of the water
C air compressible has to over come the weight and friction of a non compressible liquid

D one of those unexplainable things my old mind doesnt fully understand but I will remember it doesnt work as I thought it would and dont repeat it :)
