We contacted Robert Styka, who was listed in all the ads as the man in charge.
We told him that he had listed some property that my wife and I own and that is not for sale.
It turns out that the property across the road was supposed to be listed.
The pictures in all the ads have been changed to represent the property across the road.
The narrative has been changed, explaining that there is no physical address for this property.
It took several phone calls to straighten out this mess.
Had it not been for a neighbor alerting us to the real estate ads, we would not have even known about it.
I'm going to check a couple of things out at the courthouse tomorrow, but I think we are in the clear.
There are still a few things I wonder about, but I don't feel it should affect me.
First is seems funny that they happen to have the right photos readily available (all changed in less than 24 hours).
And the biggest thing is that after making some inquiries, we found the actual owners, who lived out of state, and talked to them on the phone.
They didn't know their property was for sale either. |
