What aggravates me is people who do not care about there business or who do not want to learn how to do it better. I believe when a person opens a business he is not in the business to sell something. He is in the business of service. I always believed that anybody can hang out a shingle, but it takes caring and work to make the business work.
You're exactly right, the people who OPEN the business are there to sell themselves and the service they offer...whether their employees share the same vision can be a reflection of them, but at the end of the day, some people are just there for a check, and as a business owner, sometimes you HAVE to have enough people to make everything happen, even when some may not share the same vision and commitment as everyone else...as long as they are doing their part, sometimes that's what you have.
For my business, at the end of the day, I need techs, I need parts employees, I need book keepers, I need sales people...and I also need some people who just show up and do what pops up, sweep the floors, take out the trash, etc. I need s certain number of "skilled" bodies, and a certain TOTAL number of bodies to do everything that happens on a daily basis. That's any business, I don't care what it is...there's a minimum number...or the owner picks up the slack in our case.
