East of Broken Bow | Depends on the bin.
I am such a STO I have one sweep auger that does 2 bins, one with a 6 inch unload, one with an 8 inch unload.
On the 6 inch unload bin, I clean up as it goes, I've got plenty of time to do it, and I don't have to hurry the sweep to keep up with the unload.
On the bin with the 8 inch unload, I run it around twice because in order to run the sump full, the sweep auger has to be constantly 'encouraged' to move into the pile, and corn runs over the top constantly. I have also found that if you let corn pile up behind it, it will move corn faster. So, I push it fast around once to keep the sump full, then go around again, and sweep behind, takes less time overall that way. Also, this is a dryer bin, and if I'm just moving to storage, I might just go around twice, and not even sweep. | |
