Malta, Illinois | Lol! I think you are being a little dramatic but maybe you are right. It's not that I think he was a bad man or anything. Even his messages were for the most part on point. I guess it was just his delivery and persona that rubbed me the wrong way. Every program has to have sponsors because obviously advertising is what pays the bills. I just felt like he was more of a paid huckster for whatever company was the high bidder than a journalist. While his stories were always interesting and for the most part accurate I felt like he always embellished the truth just a shade for dramatic affect. None of this makes him a bad person and I am not suggesting he was. We listened to him regularly in my younger days. As I grew older I guess I just got a little tired or bored with some of his schtick. So, I quit listening to him. If that makes me a bad guy or un-American well so be it I guess. Better refer me to The Committee on un-American affairs. | |
