20 years ago, that area was sod or a small cattle pen or pasture farrow area. Fence line effect.
I concur. That is far too straight of a line for high wind drift.
Things like that can show up in stress years. A railroad crossed some of our land 100 years ago. The tracks were removed sometime prior to 1943, and the area has been farmed through since at least the 1950's. 2023 was a weird stress year, and those tracks were clearly visible in the soybeans at harvest.
