Jeffersonville, OH
So buy bulk poly and cut your own if you don't care about the bulb at the bottom. Here's a 12x12x1/2" chunk of UHMW for $53. https://www.mcmaster.com/9721K36/ Granite CFC used to offer bulk poly for floors, skid shoes for grain heads, etc. I don't see it on their site, but I would be happy to call my rep and ask for you.

If there aren't any alternatives coming to market, it ever occur to you that there might not be enough margin for competition to buy the equipment to break into the market?

I don't think I was trying to make any comparison...either you see the value in the product, or you don't. Your response says "we NEED" in the first 2 words, so it sounds to me like you do understand the value of them, but if you don't like the price, then don't pay it...but as you said, no one really makes an alternative....

I get it, paying people for a chunk of plastic is not what everyone loves doing, but the alternative is to take your time and your money to find a solution that fits better. I just charged a customer $4000 to add a rear hitch, hydraulics, and lights to the back of a new vertical tillage tool. For a lot of you, I'm sure I committed a heinous act charging that much...but for others, you realize that I don't employ people just for something to do, we have a business to run, and we provide a service. I forgot to tell my Brother to make sure and point the gun at his head to get that sale, so I'm assuming that the customer decided that he didn't want to mess with doing it on his own for the price I quoted.

So I guess that was my point, either you see the value enough to buy them, or you don't, and if you still need the product, then you have 2 choices...Pay, or find another solution, because as you said, it doesn't seem like anyone is competing with them.
Chris
