NW Washington | My guess is that the helicopter was there to take pictures and film the carrier as it left port. Carriers are in the news a lot these days.
I guess I am a Navy buff, as I spent 20 years in the Navy, have ridden several aircraft carriers, and spent 2.5 years on the USS Midway when it was based in Japan.
The Midway even went to the Strait of Hormuz when I was a crew member.
