This isn't a black and white situation. It really depends on your crops and soil. If you have adequate P levels and decent soil health I find very limited evidence that dry P provides any ROI.
Personally have a lot of farms where $70-90 on a foliar and some sidedress management in season, and even some biologicals(I know it's taboo) has improved yields over a traditional dry program. I pretty much only apply dry K anymore and even about half of that I have converted to K-ace or potassium thiosulfate.
But this isn't for every farm. We also take advantage of chicken litter applications on some farms every couple years, especially now because it is cheaper than coop fert.
