| Well I feel your pain. I used to work at a farm supply store in Sioux Falls in a former lifetime. Growing up on a farm I knew quite a bit but I had to learn the correct names for lots of things, and there were thousands of products, and I never knew it all, but most of us at that place surely tried to know as much as we could. If the employees continue trying to learn everything they can get better over time, but I guess there are sure a lot who don't seem to quite get there. On the other hand, in our local Ace Hardware in the town I live in, there is a lady who has been there probably more than 30 years and you just about cannot stump her, she just knows her stuff. For me the most frustrating deal is in a big box store/lumber yard and some of the folks seem to avoid customers all together, and then there is one big box store/lumber yard that seems to have an entire store full of people who are more than willing to help any customer at any time. There is quite a range of abilities and knowledge, and its probably not going to change anytime soon. | |
