My 15 year old son sees how long he can keep them on the line, I usually answer a few questions set the receiver down and walk away for a couple minutes, seems to help after a few weeks, only language they understand is time per productive call so you need to cost them as much time as possible. Not answering unrecognized numbers is not a good option if you have any sort of retail business.
