Subject: RE: Cover Cress

Elvaston, IL
I've seeded it twice. First year I blended it with potash and ran a VT tool behind the spreader. It didn't rain for 30 days after that, so the stand was dismal. The next year it was recommended I have a drone interseed the covercress into standing corn. Which I did, then it didn't rain for many weeks after that and the stand was even worse than the prior year. I'm not sure who would plant corn after covercress, but double crop beans are the hope. I ultimately decided I wasn't going to put enough effort into it to make it work well and my biggest hurdle was the discomfort of getting a combine out in late May to harvest the crop. We have enough irons in the fire and decided it's not practical for our operation.
