Southeast WI | Go to Washingon Island WI for a week with your camper or tent. We just rolled back home from a full week up there.
1- Golfed twice, really never golf but course and lack of people was perfect for us.
2- Spent LOTS of time with friends and family as several of our adult "kids" came up Wed.
3- Renewed our Bitters Club membership, kinda like renewing marriage vows after 15 years.
4- Spent time wading in Lake MI, Schoolhouse Beach was too cold for me to swim but east side with limerock way out was warm.
5- Walked a lot, rode bikes all over, ate at a few places but mainly cooked at campsite with families taking turns.
6- One friend met the 1/2 of the local police force, Officer Eli. She also cant golf very well and played some odd ball lies.
7- Watched stars and several of us downloaded flight tracker to find out what was flying directly over us!
8- Took the Cherry Train tour again. Teri the driver retires next year and she's been our driver for the past 20 years we've taken the train to learn about the island. First stop at 11 am was the bar to grab a to go cup for the 2 hour tour. This is WI ya know.
9- Have I convinced you to visit beyond the tip of Door Co?
10- If you don't have time to camp (or vrbo) at least take a day trip and enjoy the half hour ferry ride. We went in Feb of 2025 and now. Vastly different experiences.
