I've long since been rejecting this "download this app!" or "use your phone!" and other tech-obsessed nonsense since about the advent of social media (Fakebook) and Fakebook messengering and marketplace, etc. That was over 10 years ago. 

My wife will put up with some of this stuff, but she knows my limits, and has sometimes told the youngsters who are at a register to "please don't do that, or we'll walk out" while I glare at the youngster peddling this crap. 

Mind you, I was involved in building "the Interwebz" - as in, I worked in high tech until my 40's. Now, I see most application of technology to be a "solution in search of a problem." Another area where I will not tolerate this silliness is flat-panel displays in cars, where I no longer have knobs and buttons in a car to control basic things like the climate control, defroster, see the oil pressure, etc. This nonsense infuriates me no end. When I'm driving, I have no desire to play computer games to control basic issues about the car.
