SE KS | We have dove in head first since 2021. Actually quit farming with brother to persue cattle and retail beef. We have a herd of 250 cow calf and ran thru our small feed yard: 2024 18 HD, 2025 38 HD, 2026 we will run 55 HD thru. Goal is to get to 100 in 2028. All local and internet sales. We sell top shelf, Ill quit if we have to compete with grocery store prices.
Started this when calf prices were high so when they do go down (or down further) we have some support thru retail. As we all know, retail grocery store prices don't follow wholesale prices. | |
