| I know a number of people that are direct marketing. Everything from word of mouth with a few head, to internet sales. Requires a few things. A USDA plant in most cases and the time energy and skills to direct market, and an area with enough population to support it. Absolutely a possibility for a way to let a younger person into an operation without a huge expansion. Given the average age of cattle producers and the remote locations of many it isn't for everyone. But for someone with the energy for it the sky is the limit. I have a daughter with a Masters degree in marketing. Told her many times when she gets sick of city life there is a way to make a life here. | |
