Subject: The joys of fall calving heifers

Tablerock Ranch eastern Wa
If you were expecting some wreck going on I can't report that, sitting on a group of fall replacements bred to calve 1 month before the cows. About sixty in this group and they are on a grass Alfalfa pivot out the window and down from the house. Wife has her Vortex binoculars on the counter, and it has been therapeutical to come in and look down on the process. fall calves if you haven't calved any can be the furthest thing from the grind of big winter births, and these were A Id to that 307r bull we collected ten years or more ago and cleaned up with the right bulls so the girls lift their tails spin around twice lick their side and spit one out... these calves have been jumping up in minutes and are bucking after two hours. Anyway, after a long day it does a heart good to see the cycle continue. Wish we could just enjoy the ride without plant closures or 10 other things waying on a person's mind, but the fact or the matter most of us are truly blessed in this life and I for one thank God every day for those blessings. Be safe.
