Eastern NE KS | Had a somewhat similar experience at McDonald's. Went to the counter and waited for someone to take my order. A person walks up punches her code into the machine and carries on for a seemingly long while. I ask to place my order.
She says just a moment, I don't talk orders, xxx does. I guess I was in a prickly mood because I walked out.
I'm not exactly sure why my larger town's McDonald's remodeled their stores with a dine-in option. They don't want anyone to use it! In other visits, I counted 10 cars passing the drive-thru window before I finally got my order. Just another insult to a dine-in customer.
Please excuse my life long appreciation for McDonald's. They have always had the best fries going. Now they offer a double quarter pound cheeseburger from fresh, not frozen, beef. In addition, I think their burger is fatter than the old frozen mix. And that's just the way I like it.
I'm about ready to use the drive through and go in to eat!
