That’s why I see the biggest chance at growing any numbers will be with increase in fall calving herd. Dry lot the cows until first of September and turn them out to graze corn stalks all winter. Will need supplement obviously. Calves wouldn’t be confined until weaning, mix some cover crops in and I think it works just more feeding.
