| Back 40 years ago Gary Indiana had a bad crime problem. A friend ran a tire store there and if he worked after dark he would drop all of the security doors and run his own truck inside and sleep on a cot in the back room rather than risk driving a few miles to get on the interstate to go the 75 miles where he lived.He said he had to keep all but the front door locked during the day because stealing was just a way of life and there was no fear of getting caught. | |
