I don’t know about his area but here there are nearly no dryers so elevators don’t want moisture to be much over 16%. Most won’t even accept it at 17% or more. Corn nearly always dries down fast here. Like he said, it’s been losing a point per day. Not uncommon.
As to OP, sounds like decent corn. A little drought stress makes maturing be uneven.
