SW WI | I always cringe at the “ we don’t financially support the education system enough” argument.
If only it was that easy….pump more money in and turn out a class full of Albert Einsteins.
Not being paid what they deserve covers a lot of working people, not exclusively teachers.
Crazy thing around me is the number of teachers that retire before 60 and have had 30 years on the job of 180 days in a year, on contract.
Must not be too bad of a career, to be able to do that.
Unfortunately some, not all teachers, are just a clock puncher like a guy on a factory floor.
Another consistent I’ve noticed thru conversations is when test scores are good, the conversations that turn to “ paying what their worth “ picks up. When test scores are bad the conversation becomes “ it’s a difficult class”.
