South Central Kansas | I see a post on the internet mentioning corn and then a post about how each silk fertilizes on grain of corn. Then I link on google and AI tells me the same thing.
I could have sworn I read and studied in agronomy that each silk fertilizes TWO ovules, which become kernals. Except on the butt end and the tip. It was explained by the agronomists that is why there is always an even number of rows on an ear except on the butt and the tip.
What say you Agtalkers??
