| I never could understand why farmers 100 years ago used a corn shredder to process corn shocks made by a corn binder. To the old guys it was so obvious they could not follow my questions until one day everything clicked and I understood. Basically the took the ear off for hogs, cows etc and the corn stalk made very good feed. It was basically dried corn silage, minus the grain, that was fed like hay. If done right there was no spoilage and no silo required. Everyone agreed it was very good cattle feed. | |
