Did you use those ears as popping corn. I realize that if being harvested by combine it all gets mixed together and those lighter kernels might possibly be blown out. More concerned with possible toxins than the kernels that don't pop.
Just a small amount harvested and shelled by hand. Use a fan to blow the trash out.
